A Project Manager is required to:
- Manage project governance and reporting, and operate under a blended Agile approach;
- Work with the CTO, the Modern Workplace Program Manager and technical leads to define and manage the delivery of outcomes;
- Take responsibility for monitoring and reporting on project progress as well as escalating risks and issues where required to ensure full transparency;
- Take responsibility for project scheduling and budget maintenance;
- Proactively lead engagements including workshops with stakeholders to review, refine and prioritise artefacts such as, epics, features user stories;
- Provide regular reporting and presentations to the Executive Leadership team:
- Mature and ensure effective change control practices are adhered to;
- Liaise with and maintain key stakeholder relationships, including policy, project or operational issues and action items and responding to stakeholder needs and managing expectations;
- Clearly communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures;
- Support contract managers in establishing the new services arrangements;
- Produce technical and non-technical documentation as required;
- Manage project resources effectively to deliver the required outcomes; and
- Be responsible for embodying agency values and fostering a positive workplace culture.
The branch is responsible for building the agency’s information technology capability by providing resilient, modern, and secure systems informed by data and insights, and to upskill teams to develop innovative new products and services.
The program of work is designed to deliver a contemporary IT experience for all agency staff. The program addresses a number of legacy IT challenges the agency has been facing and modernise how we work moving forward. The program is a broad program of work within the agency translating business vision and strategy into effective enterprise change with a specific emphasis on the modernisation of business capabilities supported by legacy ICT systems. The program has the responsibility of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of ICT solutions through the identification and replacement of legacy components and the reduction of technical duplication, complexity, and inefficiency.
